I am incredibly excited for this project! I was given this fairly large canvas by a friend about a year and a half ago, but it has some work on it already that I wasn't interested in keeping. Even since I got it I have been trying to figure out how I would cover it to make it into my own project and I finally came up with this! I forgot to take photos for the first few steps of the process, but I will explain nevertheless.
First of all, I washed the canvas with two coats of white acrylic paint so that nothing would show through.
Next was choosing all of my favorite hymns from a hymnal that already had some pages missing. I proceeded to arrange them on the canvas before gluing anything down but wasn't super picky about showing full titles.
I used a matte mod podge to glue everything down and covered everything with a layer as well. I made sure to have enough set out around the edges so that the sides of the canvas were covered as well. If there was a spot that I realized wasn't completely covered, I just cut a thin strip and added it in.
That's all I've completed so far, but we are nowhere near done! Stay tuned!
